Philip Hess is well-known as an entrepreneur and co-founder of senz°, the company that successfully sells its innovative storm umbrellas across the world, and Anne Marie Westra has been very much involved in as an ambassador!
Since senz° in 2016 launched a successful crowdfunding campagne to rais growth capital for an international "scale-up", Philip has become an experienced crowd funder. The past 10 years, senz° has grown by itself - the first 3 million iconic storm umbrellas were sold, all sales concepts had proven important, international design prizes were won and intellectual property had been kept "safe and sound" - and time had arrived to scale up: "from start-up to scale up". "A logical step, because senz° makes products for real people, and with the inspiration, ideas, as well as critical feedback from the crowd of senz° fans, the company will also be able to make the world a little better!” In a very short time more than the target amount of 1 million was raised and the company is now well on its way to generating 90% of its sales from abroad in the future.
Philip gladly shares the secret of this hugely successful campaign crowdfunding campaign - which, only one week after launching, was called one of the fastest growing Dutch crowdfunding campaigns of that time - and explains why he and his business partners have very consciously chosen to do it this way.
